Kristin began working with metal in
college, where she took her first jewelry and metalsmithing
courses. Immediately intrigued by the tactile beauty
of the metal, and her ability to manipulate it, she
went on to apprentice with a blacksmith, work with several
jewelers and meanwhile developed her own independent
studio.
She received her BFA from the University of Georgia
and after a brief period working in Savannah, moved
to New York City. For five years, she exhibited in galleries
and shows in New York, worked in the advertising industry
and attained her MA from New York University in Art
Therapy, all the while still making jewelry.
Recently relocated to North Carolina, Kristin continues
to design and create jewelry, with newfound time and
space to devote exclusively to this endeavor. The work
is simple and modern, predominantly in sterling silver
with play on space, color & the tactile nature of
the metal. |
